OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 means a textile product was tested for harmful substances; MADE IN GREEN adds sustainable, socially responsible production and traceability. Labels cover specific products and expire, so check every number with OEKO-TEX® Label Check.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a label for textiles tested for harmful substances. Every component of the labelled product, from fabric to thread and buttons, is tested against a list of regulated and unregulated substances. Requirements are stricter for products with more skin contact, and strictest for baby articles. The label applies to specific products, not to a whole company, and it has to be renewed.

MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX®

MADE IN GREEN is a traceable product label. It shows the product was tested for harmful substances and made in facilities certified for environmentally friendly production and socially responsible working conditions. Each label carries a product ID that lets you trace the production stages.

How to check a label

Ask the supplier for the label or certificate number and enter it in OEKO-TEX® Label Check. Confirm the certificate is valid, hasn't expired, and covers the exact product you're buying, not just another product from the same company.

OEKO-TEX® is not the same as organic

STANDARD 100 is about harmful substances in the finished product; it doesn't certify organic fibers. If you need certified organic content, ask for a fiber-content certification such as GOTS for textiles made with organic fibers.
