The company works with highly skilled knitters, chemists, and textile engineers using state of the art European machinery in the following processes: circular knitting, dyeing (piece knit and woven goods), laboratory (color matching), printing (pigment and specialty wet printing), finishing (wet and dry), and quality control. We have produced fabrics from the ground up for some of our customers. Since 1985, we have been at the forefront of testing and developing new fabrics. At Lafayette Textiles, we take great pride in producing the highest quality fabric available on the market. As a vertically integrated mill, we carry many yarns in stock so we can knit, finish, and ship fabric within 2-3 weeks. We We closely monitor all stages of the production process to ensure you receive the best quality product possible. As consumer tastes are ever changing and fast fashion continues to grow, we have geared our operations to focus on maintaining a diverse yarn inventory, so that we can react swiftly to customer demands and changing trends. In addition, we carry yarn twisting and yarn doubling machines that enables us to create and develop unique and differentiated blends of fabric. KNITTING With a comprehensive array of knitting machinery, Lafayette is proud to provide the following knit constructions available to our customers. Our basic and novelty knits can be done with or without spandex (Please note this list is not exhaustive of all knit constructions): Jersey, Jersey Stripe, Engineered Stripe, Pique, Pointelle, 2end and 3end French Terry/ Fleece, 3end Diagonal French Terry, Loop Terry, Hacci Jersey, Interlock, Double Knit, Double Pointelle, Double Pique, Double Face Jersey, Rib (1x1, 2x1, 2x2, 4x2, 5x3), Poor Boy, Sweater, Variegated Rib, Thermal (2x1, 2x2)​ Yarn twisting & yarn doubling ​ DYEING KNIT/ WOVEN GOODS In finishing our fabrics, we use the highest quality low impact dyes and recycle water to reduce our environmental impact and footprint, in compliance with California Prop 65.
