Rainbow Leather is a second-generation family owned and operated printing, cutting, foiling, embossing, and custom painting fabricator of leather and other materials. Located in New York City, the company was founded in the 1970s by Samuel Lipson. Lipson was a local craftsman who learned the trade from his father, a Polish tanner, and initially ran the business out of his home. Over the years, Lipson, along with his son Rick, who is now the President & CEO, expanded the company’s capabilities, developing new and innovative ways to customize leathers and a growing number of other materials. Today Rainbow Leather is a global provider to leading artists, brands, and designers in high fashion, accessories, handbags, footwear, architecture, interiors, luggage, upholstery, and fine art. Our capabilities are not just customizable, but uniquely customizable.
